  3. May 06,  · "Think of Me with Kindness" is the song that serves as the singer/songwriter vein, both lyrically and musically. It was for the longest time my favorite on this album, and it still very well could be (I can't really say at this point). "River", being arguably the most different track here, mixes in a gritty, almost motown style/5().
  4. GENTLE GIANT Octopus (Archive quality mid 70s Italian spaceship label issue of the 8-track vinyl LP, an all time classic among Prog fans, complete with lyric inner, picture sleeve. This is a beautiful one previous owner copy. The sleeve shows minimal shelfwear and the vinyl remains near 'as new' with little sign of play).
  5. While I noted in my review of the remastered Gentle Giant 'Three Friends' that it is a sentimental favorite, 'Octopus' was an album that quickly grew on me, vying with and eventually surpassing Three Friends as a go-to album for a Gentle Giant fix/5().
  6. One of the undisputed classics of the prog-rock era, this LP finds the band members not only in a creative zone, but showing off their prowess on guitar, bass, drums, synth, vibes, cello, sax, trumpet, violin, xylophone and Mellophonium!/5().
  7. Octopus Gentle Giant. Released Think of Me with Kindness Lyrics. 8. River Album Credits. Cover art Roger Dean, Kenny Kneitel, Charles White & 1 more.
  8. Gentle Giant is indeed an acquired taste, and "Octopus" ranks as their best work. The album is somewhat of an eclectic mixed bag of progressive styles ranging from medieval classical to a hard rock reworking of Albert Camus to a complex a-capella track to a Zappa-esque instrumental and a beautiful off-kilter ballad in "Think Of Me With Kindness".
